Neil began his Christian radio ministry in 1980 serving in a variety of on-air positions that took him from Boston, MA to Virginia Beach, VA to Washington, DC and all the way back to his hometown of Buffalo, NY. In September of 1987 Neil was named Chief Announcer at WDCX and host of the popular PM Drive music program known as "Praise Company."
From 1992-94 Neil served as East Coast Correspondent for Family News in Focus, a daily feature of Focus on the Family that aired nationwide on more than 1300 radio stations.
In 1994, he accepted an offer from the Crawford Broadcasting Company to host New York's first state-wide Christian talk show, "LifeLine". While hosting LifeLine, Neil conducted over 6000 interviews, and handled some 35,000 listener phone calls. Even more exciting was the reality that lives were being changed in Western New York and Southern Ontario!
In 1999, God called Neil to serve Him in pastoral ministry. He was licensed to the ministry in December of 1999 and ordained in April of 2000. Neil served as Assistant Pastor at the Amherst Baptist Church for several years before accepting the call to serve as their Sr. Pastor.
With 8 years of ministry experience behind him, Neil has returned to WDCX to serve as the station Program Director and the Host of "Neil Boron Live", a talk, music and feature program that airs from 3-6pm Monday through Friday afternoons.
Neil says he is "absolutely thrilled” to be back and excited to see how his 8 year journey in local church ministry will benefit his continued ministry on-air. "The last 8 years have taken me to places in ministry I probably would not have chosen for myself." But, he says, "they are places God obviously wanted me to go, for His glory...and for further refinement and preparation in my own life."
During his radio career Neil has covered hundreds of events including live broadcasts from the 1992 and 1996 Republican and Democratic Conventions, several Graham Crusades and a numerous national Promisekeeper events held in Colorado, Buffalo, Syracuse, Detroit and Washington, DC. In addition, Neil has been involved in more than 150 remote broadcasts of major rallies, marches, conferences and conventions in Western New York and Southern Ontario including the annual Kingdom Bound Festival that draws some 60,000 visitors each to Darien Lake theme park.
Neil and his wife, Mary, have been married since 1985. God has blessed them with three children: Bethany, Zachary, and Benjamin.
